Adored for the technical challenge and the breathtaking views it offers, paddle boarding is undoubtedly a water sport that has been gaining popularity in recent years.
What could be more soothing than exploring Quebec’s waterways, paddle in hand, letting yourself be rocked by the current and dazzled by the vast landscapes surrounding you? The best part of this sport: you can do it standing up on the paddle board, sitting, kneeling, or even lying down!
We suggest 12 dreamy places where you will absolutely want to paddle board this summer!

Paddle board, paddleboard, SUP?
Whether we talk about paddle board, paddleboard, or SUP (for stand up paddle board), it is a board that allows you to navigate on the water. Of course, there are different types of boards for various uses and bodies of water.
Thus, you will find many options that differ in shape, thickness, and volume, offered in rigid or inflatable paddle board formats. For example, there are wider boards that offer better stability underfoot for practicing yoga or for covering long distances. Conversely, some are more slender to go faster, but they are less stable.
Without a doubt, there are tons of choices to have fun on Quebec’s waters this summer, whether with your own board or if you try rented boards through the various rental points offered.

Before your outing, don’t forget the essentials!
Before heading out on your adventure, here are some accessories to bring and some information to know for a pleasant and safe outing.
Did you know it is mandatory to have a life jacket and a safety kit on board? Several studies show an increase in drownings caused by the absence of a flotation vest, which is essential. The safety kit, meanwhile, allows you to call for help with a whistle or to hold onto a rope. Place your personal belongings in a waterproof bag to keep them dry.
Safety tip: use a dog leash attached to a ring on your paddle board; it will serve as a stirrup to help you get back on more easily if you fall into the water. You will avoid burning yourself trying several times.
Also consider bringing a floating cell phone case , ideal for calling for help or taking your best photos.
To inflate your paddle board, you can use a manual pump (expect 15 minutes of effort) or an electric pump plugged into a 12 V car outlet, which allows you to prepare your accessories while the board inflates.
Go Sport wishes you magnificent outdoor adventures, filled with positive paddle board experiences.
Bring a friend, your partner, your children, or your siblings: paddle boarding is an unforgettable activity, especially shared with loved ones.
It is a natural wealth that allows you to reconnect with nature and the natural elements.
For a first outing, consider taking an introductory course or participating in guided excursions.
